Gregg Allman, 64, Engaged to 24-Year-Old

Maybe the seventh time will be the charm?

Gregg Allman, the 64-year-old founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, revealed on Piers Morgan Tonight that he’s engaged to a 24-year-old woman named Shannon.

Allman has been married six times before and has five children: son Devon Allman, 39, with his ex-wife Shelley Kay Winters; son Elijah Blue Allman, 35, with ex-wife Cher; daughter Delilah Island Allman, 31, with ex-wife Julie Bindas; son Michael Sean Allman, 45, with ex-girlfriend Mary Lynn Green; and daughter Layla Brooklyn Allman with ex-girlfriend Shelby Blackburn, 19.

Piers Morgan asked Allman, “How does she feel about becoming wife number seven?”

“That’s not what she’s becoming. She’s becoming wife number one. I don’t have a wife, I haven’t had one for years,” Allman reasoned.

Why is he getting married again? The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer explained, “Because this time I’m really in love.” 

Out of his six marriages, Allman said he’s only been in love with two of his six wives — but “they didn’t reciprocate.”
