Tangled Animated Show Coming to Disney With Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi

Letting her hair down once more! Rapunzel is making her way to the small screen with an upcoming animated television adaptation of Disney’s Tangled.

Disney announced on Wednesday, June 3, that a TV series inspired by the 2010 film is in the works. Early stages of production are already under way, two years before Tangled is expected to hit airwaves in 2017.

The cartoon show will reunite Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, who lent their voices to the original movie. Moore will return to her role of Rapunzel, while Levi will once again voice Flynn Rider aka Eugene Fitzherbert.

“Set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, Tangled Ever After, the animated series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom, and the people of Corona,” Disney explained in a release. “Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world drives her to the realization that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny.”
